Kendujhar (Keonjhar) has played a significant role in the political journey of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha. Known for its rich tribal culture, mineral resources, and strong nationalist sentiments, Kendujhar has been one of the important strongholds of the BJP in the state. Over the years, the district has produced several prominent BJP leaders and has contributed immensely to the party’s growth in Odisha.
One of the early leaders associated with BJP’s growth in Kendujhar was Jogendra Naik, who served as an MLA and contributed significantly to strengthening the party’s presence in the district.
The late 1990s and early 2000s marked an important phase for BJP in Kendujhar as the party expanded its support base among tribal communities, youth, farmers, and women.
